Over 20 years in the marine world: from grease at fifteen to 100-foot yachts, from captain to founder of a boat management company in Mauritius. Here's the story behind the app.
I never really chose the sea, it was there from the start. I didn't discover it in an office or in books, but with the engine bay open, hands deep in grease, on the docks, at the helm. Captain Crews was born from that ground, not from a marketing plan. It's the tool I wish I'd had through all those years of carrying everything alone.

Hands deep in engines
Hooked on marine mechanics from an early age, I went full-time at fifteen. The workshop and the dock were my classroom long before any school was.

Trade school, vocational degree, apprenticeship
I learned the trade as an apprentice right up to twenty: half in the classroom, half on the job, hands on real engines. The best school I could have asked for.

From small boats to 100-foot yachts
Over the years, I worked on everything: from small craft all the way up to hundred-foot yachts. Every size of boat has its own demands, and I've seen them all from the inside.

Yacht captain
Then I crossed over to the other side, to the helm, as a yacht captain for six years. At that point you're no longer just running an engine: you're running a crew, an owner, a schedule, and everyone's safety.

Leaving it all behind for Mauritius
I resigned, left everything behind in France, and set off to build my own boat maintenance and management company in Mauritius.

For years, I ran my own boat maintenance and management company in Mauritius, as close as it gets to owners, crews and the daily unexpected. Today, Captain Crews is where I put my energy: turning all of that experience into a tool that serves the whole industry, not just my own operation.
The day the weight finally wore me down
Carrying it all at once — mechanics in the morning, management at night, the scheduling, the reports, keeping track of every boat and every crew — the load eventually wore me down. I knew every service and every history by heart, but it all lived in my head, in notebooks and in messages scattered everywhere. I realized the problem wasn't the work — it was holding everything in my head and on scraps of paper. So I built the software I'd always wished I had: to pass on my experience instead of keeping it to myself, and so no one in this trade has to keep it all in their head anymore — whether you're just starting out or already running a tight ship.
